February Theme: Freedom from the Inner Critic: A Mindful Approach
Teacher: Beej Christie Karpen
Who doesn’t have those pesky critical voices badgering them from time to time? A common approach is to ignore, try to replace, or push away, but (maybe you’ve noticed) they often come back even stronger.
What if it turned out they’re actually well-intentioned (once we get to know them a little better with gentle curiosity) and we can befriend them for the greater good—Who knew?? Join us for this light-hearted exploration of our critical parts. Class will include meditation, guided journaling, and discussion.
Beej Christie Karpen is a Life Coach/Alternative Therapist and Qualified MBSR Teacher. She practices IFS therapy (getting to know the different parts of oneself to create more harmony within the inner system), Somatic Experiencing (working with the emotional body) and hypnosis, all mindfulness-based practices that reach the deeper places of the self, leading to lifelong transformation. She is also the creator of “Conscious Drinking 101” workshops, geared for participants who’d like to learn mindfulness tools to reduce their drinking to healthier levels.
