We are a community of practicing MBSR teachers committed to sharing the benefits of MBSR with the general public as well as with a variety of specific populations. We are situated in New York City, Upstate NY, Connecticut, New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester and beyond.

Since 2008, our Collaborative has provided mutual encouragement, peer supervision and a context for the continuous learning of our craft. Together we form a network of support and continuous growth as a group of diverse teachers, including the mentoring of new teachers and the development of innovative curricula grounded in the 8 week MBSR cycle as pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the Center for Mindfulness at UMass.

We are bonded by a common dedication to daily mindfulness meditation practice, as well as a shared quest for authenticity in our lives and in our teaching.

How do we do this?

  • Monthly gatherings by invitation of qualified, certified MBSR teachers and MBSR teachers in training (currently with Zoom)

  • In depth study of the various segments of the 8 week MBSR cycle

  • Regular workshops on specific topics with teachers from our Collaborative as well as guest teachers

  • An ever-growing collegial network of friendship and informal support

  • A private Google Group for ad hoc support

  • Daily sits on Facebook live at noon EST, hosted by trained MBSR teachers, on our Facebook page.

  • Mindful.org is curating articles, videos and mini-courses.

  • Dr. Jud Brewer from Brown University Center for Mindfulness is releasing daily educational videos to help manage anxiety

  • Tricycle is offering free on-line practice sessions.

  • 10% Happier and Dan Harris are producing a free daily Coronavirus podcast with meditations and talk.

  • Space2Meditate team Jon and Upayadhi, members of the Collaborative, are leading twice daily live meditations via Zoom, at 8am and 6pm EST.
